Pennsylvania Gettysburg Monuments

At 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13 in the Media Center, state Rep. Harry Readshaw, D-Allegheny, will update the progress of the Pennsylvania Gettysburg Monuments Project, including the restoration work funded by the project and the progress of the campaign to establish endowment trusts for each of the 146 Pennsylvania monuments.

Additional topics will include:

* Students from schools in the region, along with teachers and officials of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, will unveil the expansion of the Monument Challenge to actively involve Pennsylvania school students in preserving the icons of freedom on the battlefield and in learning the legacy of July 1-3, 1863.

* Representatives of major corporate sponsors will announce their financial support for the Monument Challenge.

* Revealing plans for the Second Annual Monument Challenge Run/Walk at the historic Daniel Lady Farm in Gettysburg in cooperation with the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association.

* Unveiling a new logo for the Monument Challenge.
