Major General John Sedgwick monument

Damaged plaza of Major General John Sedgwick monument
The state of Connecticut erected this large monument to honor General Sedgwick. The foundation under the monument is collapsing and falling away. The surface plaza is very unique and intricate. The plaza is beyond repair and replication is indicated.

Structural work would also have to be checked under the foundation and archeological work conducted to see if the statue sits on the plaza or a separate foundation. The bronze horse/rider figure is in need of cleaning and waxing.

• Estimated cost of refurbishing is $27,000 or more.
