"Dear Mr. Readshaw,
Hello. Let us introduce ourselves. We are students at Cold Spring Elementary School in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. We belong to an after school club called K-Kids. K-Kids is a service club and is part of the Kiwanis organization. We perform services and hold events that will help our community. A few months ago, one of our club advisors told us about the monuments in Gettysburg and how much money it cost to repair them. On Saturday, May 19th, our club, made up of 3rd, 4th and 5th graders, held a fundraising event called March for the Monuments. We invited all the children in our school to participate by getting sponsors and marching with us from our school to a local park, called War Memorial Park, and back. We even had two Civil War re-enactors join us in our march. Our 25 club members, our three advisors, along with parent volunteers and marchers worked very hard to make this fundraiser a huge success! Altogether we were able to raise $1,713.50. We are proud and happy to donate this money to you.
